EMERALD BERET
MATERIALS
1 skein of worsted weight yarn
My recommendation: Caron Simply Soft, Dark Sage
Size "K" (6.5mm) crochet hook
Size "F" (3.75mm) crochet hook

"Emerald" is a classy beret whose main body is a loose, open lace, and is closed off with a fitted brim embellished with popcorn stitches for texture and appeal. The hat can be worked up within an afternoon and uses less than one skein of worsted weight yarn.

Any worsted weight yarn may be used, although I favor Caron's Simply Soft yarns for their vivid colors and wonderful drape that suit lace patterns very well.

I used a size "K" crochet hook, making the main body a very open and loose pattern, and worked the fitted brim with a size "F" hook.

This pattern, along with other free crochet patterns, can be found on my blog: www.muttikam.blogspot.com

This pattern has not been tested before publication and any pattern-support questions may be sent directly to me, the designer, at art@muttikam.com.
